Really good but unforeseen issue: static shocks?

Bought in late winter, builds up a lot of static, and seems it may have some metal framing or something cause I generate and discharge static just getting out of the chair, such that I'm getting multiple small static shocks off the arms of the chair just getting up from it or sitting down in it. No way I could've foreseen this, but it's really not a big deal, and the chair is fantastic otherwise.
